The question is very simple, but I am not sure whether it has been expressed properly.

A query string is a plain formatted data, which is usually sent to the server as a part of the URL itself. This is visible on the address line of the browser, and could be interpreted very easily. The query string is a collection of one or more query variables with values joined by ampersands (&), and is separated from the path part of the URL by a question mark (?).

The format of a URL with query string is:

<host address>/<path>/<filename.extension>?<param1>=<value1>&<param2>=<value2>&.....

For example,

http://www.mysite.com/sitefiles/viewdetails.aspx?profileId=1908&showAllDetails=0&allowEdit=0

Here you can find three query string variables:

profileId

1908

showAllDetails

0

allowEdit

0

If the query string parameter values are required to have special characters or spaces, the values should be be encoded using escape characters, but however they would be readable as plain text.
